[00:00:00] Welcome to the Higher Self and I, your go to podcast that will release you of your victim mindset and become your one way ticket towards the mind blowing results you desire in your life and your business. I'm your host, Rebecca Haydon, mindset and business mentor, ready to help you unlock your mindset into gear and empower you to step into the person you always knew you were meant to be.

[00:00:37] A badass CEO who is here to claim her fricking millionaire life. Ready to find out what life could be like if you just did the thing? Let's go, baby. Hello, gorgeous lady. Welcome back to Higher Self and I. Today we are talking about the CEO identity. Hell yes. Showing up with more of that CEO identity. with more of the CEO skills and truly stepping into that multi six figure business owner.

[00:01:11] Now, the first thing I want you to do is I want you to think about running a multi six figure business, a multi six figure company. You being The CEO of that business and I want you to notice what thoughts come up for you and I want you to be really honest here if you can close your eyes envision yourself reaching this goal having that dream life being in that dream reality and I want you to notice how it makes you feel straight away.

[00:01:44] Because if you're anything like my clients, when they first come to me, it probably starts a little bit like, oh my god, yes, this is my dream, this is what I've always wanted, all the things I could do when I have this, this type of business, what it's gonna look like, how it's gonna feel. And a few seconds later, if not a few milliseconds later, we get those thoughts such as, But is it really possible for me?

[00:02:13] Am I qualified enough? What if I'm not cut out for this level of success? Oh my god, that feels so unbelievably far away for me right now. There's so many thoughts and feelings that come up when you really have a look at tapping into that space and really stepping into that, you know, that thought of you can't do this, you're nowhere near six figures and The self doubt starts to take over and that loop of self doubt comes in.

[00:02:44] And I really wanted to speak into that self doubt today because I was there. Like, I really, really remember that feeling so very much. [00:03:00] And my story of becoming a multi six figure business owner, I really wanted to kind of talk into, as I was doing the notes for this podcast, I really wanted to talk into that today because it feels, it's such a weird experience to reflect back on what I thought multi six figures was going to be in my life.

[00:03:23] And I remember back in 2020, and it was really funny because it came up in one of my memories the other day, I did a series of podcast episodes with coaches who were the multi six figure coaches at that point and I don't know whether you've scrolled that far back in my podcasts. Um, it probably would be such an incredible little thing for me to go back and actually listen to them but I interviewed Five different coaches, I remember Helena Grace Donald being one of them, Samantha Hearn, Amy Brown, um, Sophie, there was quite a few coaches who at the time was like, it was a huge, huge, huge step for me to even ask them to be on my podcast, for me to even ask them to for me to interview them.

[00:04:18] Like I remember being so nervous. I was sweating. I was like, kind of dabbling around the questions that I wanted to ask because they felt so far away from me, their business and what they've, what they created and who they were in the industry felt so far away from where I was. And I remember looking up to them and you know, I was even in Helena's money mindset course back in the day, probably 2020 that was.

[00:04:47] And I just constantly remember talking to her and being like, it's just never going to happen for me. Why is it happening for everyone else? And what am I doing wrong? And how am I going to get there? And how, and how, and how, and this is where the fuck the how story came from. And I remember it feeling so unattainable for me that I had to do so much work on me truly stepping into that multi six figure identity because I'd put these people, I'd put these coaches, I'd put these business owners on a huge pedestal that I didn't need to put them on because I was going my own way and I was creating my own six And I was creating my own business that didn't need to look like any of theirs, it didn't need to run like any of theirs, and it definitely doesn't now.

[00:05:34] And I remember it just feeling like this super, super out of reach thing. And really, that was 2020, 2021. Now we're only 2023. So it was really only two, three years ago that I was really feeling into that. Now I've had multiple six figure years for the last two years, um, going into the third year now. So actually it was a very quick turnaround from [00:06:00] that moment.

[00:06:00] And I remember I did those interviews. It was probably like going into the latter part of 2020. 20, going into 2021. Was that COVID year? I can't remember anymore. But it was, it was around September, October. I can think I can remember. I'm going to tag the actual episodes in here because I think, I mean, go and listen.

[00:06:23] I probably sound very different to I do now. That was back when my podcast was called Women Who Can. I think it was still called at that point. So we are going back into the trenches. But I just remember this It's multi, you know, the multi six figures was such a sentence that was said over and over again that I kind of put it so much on a pedestal that it felt so unattainable for me and I know I use it a lot in my marketing purely because I've helped so many clients reach six figures and go on to reach multi six figures that it almost feels like I really want to step into making it feel attainable for you because at that time, no, no one could make it feel attainable for me.

[00:07:12] No one could make me believe or see or understand the mindset behind it. This is the sustainability behind it, the scalability behind it, what it would look like for me and bespoke to me. You know, I'm All about you building your business the way that you actually want to build your business and so many of my clients have completely different businesses and some of them do the same thing.

[00:07:39] I'm here for that, that difference that. true bespoke business strategy of yours. And I think at that time we were all falling in, especially 2020, 2021, we were all falling into the same things, doing the same things, doing the same strategies, feeling that it has to be done the same way. And I really just wanted to speak into that today because I know a lot of you listen and you're like, wow, Beck, the way that you turned things around, or the way that you shot into the success that you had makes it feel doable for me.

[00:08:16] It makes, makes it feel reachable for me because you were where I am right now. And I want to show you that it can be done for you. I want to show you that you can have this and go on to do more and be more and have more than I even have right now. And. That, I just wanted to say that today. I don't know where it came from, but it came out in my notes and I was like, I really want to speak into that because back then it felt so unattainable for me, multi six figures, and I thought that multi six figures was going to be the be all and end all of my problems and quite frankly, that didn't happen because with every level, there is a new thing to deal with or a new thing to learn or a new thing to address.

[00:08:59] [00:09:00] address, whether it's mindset, whether it's strategy, whether it's operations, there's always something new that I'm learning, even now, you know, I listened back to one of my gorgeous clients, Sophie, she did a wrap up of the retreat that we we just been on in Nice, me and my business partner, Jen, we ran a retreat together.

[00:09:20] It was our very first retreat, we're going to be running another one next year. So we'll be talking about the The waitlist will be out soon because I know so many of you were like, oh my god, I wish I was there. Um, and it was really beautiful to hear her reflection on her podcast. And I'll link that podcast if you wanted to hear what we got up to on the retreat.

[00:09:40] But Sophie did like a real reflection of the retreat and her experience. And one of the things that she said was that... She saw that it was stretchy for me and Jen to even do that and that no matter what part of your business and no matter where you are and what you're doing and what you're achieving, there's always going to be uncomfortable, stretchy times.

[00:10:01] And I think like That's what no one told me, when I was back in 2020, 2021, wanting this multi six figure business because I thought it was going to solve everything, that the fact of, like, I still feel stretched, I still feel uncomfortable, I still have to work through things and go through things and navigate things, like, that still happens to this day.

[00:10:25] So, yeah. Maybe I do a full podcast episode on my actual journey from start to finish of entrepreneur, finish, I'm never finishing, from start to where I am now of entrepreneurship. I do get, I do get asked a lot about it and kind of the navigation through it. So I'll park that one. And Nicola, if you're listening, my podcast manager, make a note of that one too.

[00:10:47] So let's dive in because I really want you to know that the dream of you owning a multi six figure business, seven figure business, eight figure, whatever you want to do, or even if you don't resonate with the, the phrase multi six figures, if it comes across in a different way, it isn't just a dream for you, it's an achievable freaking reality.

[00:11:10] And I really wanted to talk about how we're going to get there today. There's a couple of things that I'm going to talk through and it really does mirror. What I'm currently in launch for so the the week that this goes out Is my launch week of the ceo edge and you will have already heard A bit of an advert for it, but we are currently in launch for my new group program And it is something that I have completely reverse engineered From working with so many clients who have come to me Around the two, three to five K months who have scaled to 10 K plus months, 10, 15, 20 K months.

[00:11:55] And I really have reverse engineered everything that we've been doing, [00:12:00] everything that I did to get there. And it keeps falling into these three categories. But I speak about a lot. Next level mindset and subconscious work, CEO operations, and then that higher calibre or that positioning and messaging that brings in that calibre of client that you desire.

[00:12:21] So, I will be touching upon that, but Purely because right now the group course that I am currently raving about and obsessed with is those are the three pillars within the course as well. So you'll be hearing that throughout. Um, and I really hope that if you've got questions or if you're interested, I really hope that You feel open enough to drop into my DMS.

[00:12:45] We can have a discussion about that too. And of course we will currently be, if you're listening to this on the week that it goes out, which is the 23rd of October, we are currently in the CEO edge open house as well. So it's all going on. Let's dive in. The first thing I wanted to discuss today was the power of identity because the importance of.

[00:13:12] Identity work in your entrepreneurial journey is incredible. And. When we start our business, we start with a certain identity and it might be a scrappy startup or solopreneur or I have no clue what I'm doing, so I'm just going to be messy kind of identity. Um, I'm going to piss in the wind kind of idea.

[00:13:38] We have lots of different identities that we start our entrepreneurial journey with because it gets to be scrappy and it gets to be messy at the beginning, but to break through those. 10 K plus months. and the kind of income barrier of that, we truly need to step into this CEO identity, which I continuously talk about on the podcast, on my socials, and within my one to one containers, and the membership, and I really believe that exploring this is this exploring this shift and exploring your CEO identity is so crucial for your success.

[00:14:21] So when you have a look at your CEO identity, what does that feel like for you? How does she show up? How does she run her day to day? How does she, um. show up for her business, but how does she show up for her life, for her health, for her friends, for her family? What I found when I was shifting into multi six figures is, yes, there's quite a lot to navigate, and there's quite a lot of shifts that I had to change as Especially when it came to the organizational part.

[00:14:52] And I'm not kind of speaking into the CEO operations at the moment, but a big part of my identity had to shift because [00:15:00] I was known as Last Minute Haydon. And I don't know whether I spoke about this in the podcast before, but we have this ongoing joke in our family that we're called the Last Minute Haydons.

[00:15:11] We thrive off leaving things last minute. I left my dissertation last minute. I leave everything I do to the last minute. until I started my business. Well, until I started stepping into the multi six figure CEO, because I couldn't navigate the business, leaving things to last minute. And now I've got the foundation set up.

[00:15:32] Sometimes I can, because it might be a an idea that drops in or that a client said something that was like, oh, that's a really good idea. I want to really kind of drive with that and go with that. But a lot of the time I have to have things mapped out and things planned and people in, people need things from me at a certain date of a certain time.

[00:15:56] And my team want things two weeks in advance, three weeks in advance, a month in advance. We need to know Black Friday. We need to know Q1. There's a lot of things going on. So A big part of my CEO identity really had to shift around how I showed up for myself, how I showed up for the promises that I made that I wanted to do in the business, and what that looked like for me.

[00:16:19] I could no longer have the identity of last minute Haydon. I could no longer have the identity of that because it wasn't going to fly with where I want the business to go. So I really had to start having a look around that. I had to start having a look at my boundaries. You know, I was a huuuuge people pleaser.

[00:16:42] It was a huge part of my identity. So much so that I did so, I did such a lot of work on the people pleaser identity and pattern and template that I used to play. I did so much work on that when I was in Australia that when I came back, I had A lot of friendship breakups because people were not used to me putting boundaries in like I remember when I came home from Australia the first time the first time and I was seeing a lot of friends I was seeing a lot of family and one of my friends You know, one of my friends, who I was very close with, wanted me to travel to a certain place, and I was like, I can't do that.

[00:17:21] Like, I'm, I'm knackered. I've, I've traveled so many places. I've seen so many friends. Like, if you want to see me, I'm more than happy to meet you halfway, or can you come here? And me putting that boundary in caused a ruckus, to be honest, because people weren't used to me saying no. People weren't used to me saying, well, this is what I'm going to do.

[00:17:42] If you want to come and see me here, then fine. And if you don't, then that's it. You know, they weren't used to that. And it really did cause, um, What went on to be a friendship breakup, and I think, you know, people were not used to that new identity [00:18:00] of mine. Um, especially because they hadn't been in person with me since I'd been to Australia.

[00:18:08] So, there was a huge part of my identity that really had to change. With the business, you know, you obviously need very strong boundaries within your business And it's something that I work on to this day and I'm constantly tweaking and you know Sometimes I have to overstep my boundary to understand that it's a boundary that's been overstepped 27 clients one to one Take that as an example, you know, back in, back in 2020, January, January of 2020, I had to learn that lesson.

[00:18:38] I had to learn that that was an identity that I needed to shift. And I think kind of just seeing what that is, and it doesn't have to all happen at once, and it definitely didn't for me, but really allowing yourself to. understand the self perception, the beliefs about ourselves that either limit us or expand us.

[00:19:04] So have a little look at your identity right now. Have a little look at what's actually going on. Your self perception. You know, your self perception and the belief that you have about yourself. What are those? Make a list. What, what, what stories or what beliefs limit me right now? What self perceptions are limiting me right now?

[00:19:30] Versus, other side of the list, what self perceptions and beliefs are expanding me right now, or what do I want to add to, what do I want to take away, really understand what that looks like for you. And when we know this, this is where we can start doing a lot of deep, subconscious belief work, which is the second thing I wanted to talk about today.

[00:19:52] So, the first thing that I really shifted was the power of my identity. What did I want that CEO identity to look like? And it could be sometimes the smallest of shifts. You know, when I was at the retreat, one of the, one of the gorgeous women at the retreat, she kept talking about her business as her company.

[00:20:12] And I... Absolutely loved that. She said it a couple of times and it, you know, when it just like, you take a moment and you're like, wow, I love that she talks about her business as her company. She wasn't saying, well, my business and my business there. So my business that she was like my company, this my company that.

[00:20:32] And I was like, Oh my God, I frickin love that shift. I love that reframe. That's the identity that I want to be. And You know, really stepping into that. Like, I want to call my business my company from now on. Sometimes it can take the smallest of shifts to really help you step into that identity and really help you to understand what that's going to look like for you.

[00:20:58] So, with the [00:21:00] subconscious beliefs that's coming up right now with you. You moving into multi six figures, stepping really into the CEO. Cause that is what we're concentrating on today. That's CEO identity, CEO skills, really having a look at what could potentially be holding you back right now, or. Could be propelling you forward.

[00:21:20] So, like I said, with that concept of your identity and that maybe that's a little bit of higher self work, maybe that's a bit of visualization. I do a lot of this within the membership. If you want to come and join us, you are always more than welcome. The link is in the show notes, but we do a lot of work on the higher self, what it looks like when you really, truly step into that C E.

[00:21:45] Oh, identity. When we know that that's when we can start to uncover those limiting beliefs that are sabotaging your growth. This is a big part of what I'm going to be doing in the CEO edge, my brand new group course, because we have to have. The foundational belief system underneath us in order for the CEO operations to follow through with in order for you to set the boundaries in order for you to show up and attract that higher caliber of client in order for you to believe that this is fucking happening for you, you know, we have to have a look at that.

[00:22:19] And that really comes from the self awareness, you know, Self awareness, the first step of change, so understanding, recognizing your own limiting beliefs, what that is, how it looks like, how it's showing out in these patterns, what your templates look like. Templates and patterns, kind of the same thing, uh, when I talk about that, you know, like what is the template that you're currently playing from right now?

[00:22:43] Is it yours? Is it learnt? Is it something that's happening? You know, I had to look at my money. When I was growing the business and making the money that I make now, I really had to look at the money template that I, uh, grew up with and what I saw my mom and dad do with money and what I see myself doing with money now that kind of has that, that through line of their template that I don't need that template anymore.

[00:23:09] I get to decide my own template. So really having a look at the subconscious beliefs behind it. The next thing is the organization. And I know that I have done many a podcast episode on this and I talk about it a lot, but a big part of that CEO identity for me was really stepping in to the significance of organization, that fundamental element of a CEO role and to the business success, to be honest.

[00:23:42] So business organization, time management. boundaries, client relationships, all of the things that we encapsulate within the CEO operations, especially within the CEO edge and the course that I'm currently, um, [00:24:00] currently launching. Like I said at the start, you know, we have a huge. Huge CEO operations optimization within that.

[00:24:08] That's streamlining your systems. It's mastering your schedule for growth. It's setting healthy boundaries. It's productivity habits. It's financial management. It's scaling your business for growth and expansion. That planning. All of those juicy things we really have to look at and I think that was one big part that no one ever really teaches.

[00:24:31] No one really ever teaches you how to do it. You kind of just muddle your way along and maybe you get a team member that helps you or a team member that's done it with someone else and they're like, oh, I've just done this with my client. Should we try that in our business? You know, like you kind of. It was very messy for me.

[00:24:47] I had to learn on the way, and quite frankly, within the operations, I've had quite a few tests. My, my, my old OBM, the OBM that I had right at the beginning, she left me on a whim, like completely just left out of the blue, no handover, no nothing. Um, I didn't hear anything from her. She literally vanished. We had a, we had a handover call in the diary.

[00:25:12] She had set up my whole click up. She had, she. was my OBM for two years, um, and went and worked full time with a very big coach in Australia and I never spoke to her again. And I did not know what she was doing in ClickUp, what was in ClickUp, what was going on. So it was a big lesson that I had to learn as part of the scalability of my business.

[00:25:36] I had to hire one of my gorgeous team members, Abby, to go in and be like, what the hell is going on in ClickUp? I have no clue. So. Really understanding what is going on and being part of that process. You don't need to know all of the you know All of the systems and how they work and how Dubsado works.

[00:25:58] You know, you don't have to know all of that, but you have to have an understanding of how you want the journey to be, how you want your boundaries to look, how you want your week to look, and really understanding of that. That was a huge, huge step for me with showing up with more of a CEO identity and really harnessing the CEO skills.

[00:26:18] And with operations, usually does come a team. you know, you really have to step into the communication. You really have to be very clear on what you want from people and what you, how you're going to show up and how you want them to show up and all of those juicy things within that. So yes, there is quite a lot that goes into showing up with more of a CEO identity and I think it comes from, yes, like I said, it comes from that mindset.

[00:26:48] perspective, but equally it comes from the understanding of how you want your business to look as well. I think it's so, so important. So hopefully this podcast is giving you one, a little [00:27:00] insight into my journey to six figures, multi six figures. But two has made you kind of see what we can work on together, especially in my new course, the CEO edge.

[00:27:12] I am like I said, I'm so excited for it. All of the information will be in the show notes. If you pop onto the link, the CEO edge, Rebecca Haydon dot com slash CEO edge. All of the information will be in there. The breakdown, the modules, how we're working, It's almost like a hybrid of one to one which I'm so excited for because I know that there's so many of you who would love to do one to one or thinking about one to one in the future and maybe you just want to taste or maybe you just want to be in my world but in a group container, you know, so I just really wanted to have that option for you and I know there's so many of you that have signed up to the open house which again gives you the taster of what that's going to look like too.

[00:27:57] So, Let's go and have a look at your CEO identity. Let's have a look at the beliefs around it. Let's have a look at what can really shift from an operational perspective and how you're wanting to show up online too, which I'm going to do a completely separate podcast episode on as well. I will see you next week.
